The acclaimed Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC), based in Scotland—has recognized Fernando as an award-winning technology mentor, bolstering his direct contributions in the climate technology realm.

  • Notably, the NZTC counts with industry partners via Equinor, bp, ADNOC Group, and Accenture which augments involvement between industry, the NZTC, startups, and mentors.

He has provided pivotal mentoring and guidance to two innovative startups that went on to win paramount awards through the NZTC's TechX startup-accelerator program.

The aforementioned companies are:

  • Aquature which produces hydrogen, green chemicals, and carbon neutral fuels by repurposing wastewater.

  • Puls8, a tube verification company that has developed technology that has wide-ranging implications in the energy field.

Importantly, the NZTC has also entrusted Fernando with the role of being a technology screener and assessor. His feedback has a bearing in influencing which unique startups are accepted into the centre's coveted TechX program, while equally obtaining funding to advance their respective technologies.


After being asked to reflect on the significance of this honor, Fernando expressed:
